Applause for care

“Ramadan 1441 is going to remember me in particular. It has given me so much strength. Gained insight into sides of myself that I have not come to know before. The month in which, for the first time in a long time, I took the time for myself to be alone for a while, not to join the race and do what feels right.
Standing still with who you are, what you do and where you want to work towards is important for everyone and I am glad that I was able to experience that again.
It is a month of reflection, of forgiving, forgiving and forgiving again. Asking forgiveness from Allah for the sins I have committed.
It is a month in which it feels as if I may start a new chapter again.
That Allah swt has given me a new chance to work on my faith.
This month is going to stay with me because my parents are 3000 km away. That we are going to celebrate the Sugar Feast without them breaks my heart. And yet, the strength lies in pronouncing ‘Alhamdoulillah 3ala kouli 7aal’. I’m lucky to be able to video call them. Unfortunately, many can’t say that anymore.
It’s going to stay with me because this beautiful month falls in the middle of an epidemic. An extraordinary situation for everyone. But how beautiful it is to see how much love is shared with each other. In years not so many cards have been written to each other and we see and ask for the people we haven’t spoken to in times.
As I write this, it feels like a blessing to be able to experience Ramadan this way.
It has given me even more depth and even more awareness of what we have and what we don’t have. Where we thought certain things were taken for granted, we have learned to enjoy what really matters.
Family, friends and everyone who reads this. I hope you have had a beautiful month and will make good use of these last days.
Ask for each other, take care of each other and if it is possible for you to help a charity through a donation.
May Allah accept our fasts and deeds and count us as the lucky ones to experience inshallah again next year”.
