Empty bars of Amsterdam
During the lockdown I went into the city and made photo’s of all the lost bars; the empty chairs, dying plants and the memories of what once was. Based on this experience I wrote the song “Amsterdam 2020”.

I stop and gaze inside an empty bar
The plants are dead the chairs stacked
No-one comes and no-one goes
The moonlight shines as on an empty stage
It’s been a lonely time
Between the lock-down and the love-down
No-one to hang out with only one place to go
The silent city centre of old Amsterdam
Where I picture you on an abandoned barstool
