Reflections in times of corona #7: Moataz Rageb
door Mounir Samuel
I’ve been working on these little digital images during the last 8 weeks. I usually paint on canvas but I didn’t have the energy. Our routine was changed drastically. We had to work from home and take care of our kids all day without being allowed to go anywhere, as you can see in “Homeschool” and “Hometasking”. Stress was high. Drawing was my peaceful, relaxing moment during the day. In “With Love”, You can see Canal houses with white t-shirts in the window, in support of the health professionals and in “Happy hour” stuffed animals to entertain the kids during their walks and wine for the parents. “Together” shows how neighbors supported each others. In “The Dream” we start dreaming of leaving our house for the summer and going the beach, but in “Fashionable” I ask the question of the evolution of fashion as a tool to protect ourselves from the virus. We don’t know what the future will be with this virus, I will keep working on this series, one day at a time…
