The Flood is a series of 5 silkscreens inspired by The 1953 flood disaster and the future perspective of what will happen to the Netherlands if we do not tackle the climate problem now. It is an abstract translation of an all-consuming flood. I silkscreened this work at the last minute, before we went into quarantine, and as a result I haven’t been able to publish it anywhere. I didn’t know at the time that the pandemic would be a temporarily bigger problem. I’m now also quite worried about how all the climate measures will be pushed through by corona in the long term.
