Can I borrow a ten? (en translation)

What does freedom mean now that our country is locked up? We, filmmaker Danique Jaspers and poet Adriana Ivanova, investigated this urgent question in a sensory poetry film that won the Open Call of De Balie and the Amsterdam 4 and 5 May Committee on 2 May. That same day the film was screened in VPRO Mondo on NPO2.
About the film:
Our streets are more army than ever, but our heads are full of landscapes with desires. Connected by collective loneliness, we crave to be touched by loved ones and strangers. Man can no longer search for himself in other people’s body cavities and corners. How can our skin hunger be satisfied – or at least tolerated – in these times of social abstinence?
In the award-winning poetry film ‘Architecture of the Free Body’, poet Adriana Ivanova and filmmaker Danique Jaspers examine how we can use our bodies and minds as instruments to experience freedom, even when our freedom of movement is limited. The makers offer stimulating ideas for a lighter life and thus comfort in a disruptive time.
